WELCOME to Western Branch Academy!
The mission of Western Branch Academy is to believe in the abilities of young children; create a community for children to belong based on love, trust, and respect; and enable children to become creative thinkers with a love for learning.
We provide innovative preschool and Kindergarten programming for children ages two through six. We also provide Kindergarten and after school care for students enrolled at Chittum Elementary or Western Branch Primary. We are licensed as a child day center through the Virginia Department of Social Services.
"Western Branch Academy is not your typical preschool. Sure, it has teachers, children, classrooms, and a curriculum, but it is so much more than that. As a military wife, mother of two young children, and working teacher in graduate school, I truly needed the BEST preschool.
As a teacher myself, education is very important to me. I didn't want my children to sit in a daycare-like setting--I wanted them to learn and be challenged. I wanted a place that would not only educate my children, but also be a caring, safe, and dependable environment for them. I researched numerous preschools in the area but none of them compared to WBA. From the moment I walked through their doors, I felt at ease. The staff is friendly, the school is clean, the curriculum is top-notch, and the parent involvement is incredible. The directors have carefully designed a program that combines enrichment programs, child-centered curriculum, structure, free play, field trips, and nurturing staff members.
They say it takes a village to raise a child. For the last 2 years, WBA has been my village. From the parents, to the teachers, to the directors--the immense compassion, dedication, and support my children and I have received will never be forgotten. My children grew socially, intellectually, and emotionally more than I could have ever imagined during their time at WBA. We are relocating this summer and so sad to say goodbye to our family at WBA. I am eternally grateful to all of the staff and wish them all the best.
I would encourage anyone in need of a preschool or kindergarten to become a part of the family at Western Branch Academy." --The Snelling Family
