Cynthia Zerr, Director
Cindy Zerr has extensive background/ experience in management in Early Childhood Education. Cindy Zerr has an Associate’s in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a Master's in Early Childhood Education. She has been a Director for the past fourteen years and has been in the field of early childhood for over thirty years.

Teachers makes a huge impact on the lives of young children and their families.  ​We strive to be a team-oriented environment that encourages professional development in one another while building strong relationships with one another.  All of our preschool teachers hold a college degree and have early childhood classroom experience.  We strive to provide high quality educational programming at Western Branch Academy.

Emily Onhaizer graduated with an Associate's Degree in Social Sciences from Tidewater Community College. She is currently working towards her Bachelor's Degree in Education at Old Dominion University. This will be her second year at WBA. She is excited to be teaching one of our PK 3 classes this year!

Victoria Nelson graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education PK-6. Her experience includes several years of working as a nanny and student teaching in the Chesapeake, Suffolk, and Norfolk school systems. This will be her second year teaching at Western Branch Academy. She is very excited to be a part of the PK-4 program at WBA!

Juliet Wilson, PK 2 T/Th and PK 3 M/W/F Teacher
​Juliet Wilson has been at Western Branch Academy for the past six years.  She is currently working towards her Associate's Degree from Tidewater Community College.  She has a daughter and is an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast. 
​Christine Messex is an RN and has been working in Early Childhood Education for 8 years as a teacher's assistant and school nurse.  She has been an office assistant for 1 year.  She has been married or 26 years and has 3 daughters.  She is very excited to help all of our Western Branch Academy families enjoy their experience here.

Sade Jones has been working in Early Childcare field for 10 years.  Starting in 2008 as a teacher's assistant at Kings Grant Academy, in 2011 she took the role of lead teacher working with small infants up to 4 year old children.  In 2017 she earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development from TCC.  She is very excited to be a part of the Western Branch Academy family as a lead teacher in the PK-4 program
Carol Beaver has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Elementary Education. She has extensive teaching experience in the public school system and taught for 1 year at Green Acres Preschool. Her experience with young children make her a great asset to our teaching team. 

​Sunshine Glance graduated from Southwestern College with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.
Her teaching experience includes student teaching in Suffolk Public Schools, as well as additional in classroom hours while earning her degree, substituting in a private school and 7 years of volunteering in classrooms.

Miss Nikki graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. She has worked in childcare for four years. Miss Nikki is currently helping to start a youth hurling program. This is her first year teaching at WBA and we are very glad to have her.
